Sing Rotherham Events

23th, 24th August – Sing Rotherham

Performances of specially-commissioned songs that interpret our displays and Rotherham’s history in new ways. The songs add new lyrics to well known tunes which will encourage visitors to join in. They include ‘The Parkin Song’ about the famous Yorkshire recipe, which relates to our working kitchen range and the historic cookery demonstrations which we run as part of our events programme.

26th & 27th August 2008 – Sing Rotherham – rehearsal of new songs & singing workshop

Sing Rotherham is a new way of exploring Clifton Park Museum. Original lyrics have been written to traditional tunes that are inspired by the Museum’s collection and exhibitions. If you are aged between 8 and 18 just come along to join us. We will have vocal coaches to help you sing your way around the museum.

30th & 31st August 2008 – Sing your way around Clifton Park Museum – Guided tour through song

Come and enjoy Sing Rotherham as they lead a guided tour of songs inspired by Clifton Park Museum’s collection.

7th September 2008 – Sing Rotherham – Main Stage performance at Rotherham Show, Diversity Festival

Rotherham Show is the largest free event in the north of England. One of the main attractions is the Diversity Festival which has representatives of the many different communities displaying their cultural heritage. Sing Rotherham choir will perform selected songs live on stage and will ask the audience to join in.

27th September 2008 – Rotherham’s opening of the Cultural Olympiad celebration

As part of the opening of the Cultural Olympiad the Sing Rotherham choir will perform selected songs live on stage and will ask the audience to join in with the chorus.
