Go Play in the street! The Street Pianos are coming! 20th June - 14th July

In June 2009, 23 street pianos will be delivered to the streets of London as part of Sing London 2009. Marked ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’, the pianos are located in public squares, train stations, street markets and housing estates. The pianos are there for any member of the public to play, sing round and enjoy. Song books featuring London songs have been attached to each piano.

In addition to impromptu use, a programme of join in ‘Round the Piano’ events will be on offer. The public are also invited to hold their own ‘Round the Piano’ events. The pianos will be installed for 3 weeks, after which time, they will be donated to deserving charities and individuals. If you’d like to receive a piano, email us and tell us why.

The London Street Pianos Project has been produced by Sing London in association with City of London Festival and artist Luke Jerram, who conceived the idea. Live a little…sing a little…Sing London.
